Jo Ann Daugherty

Music & Mix Supervisor

Consummate pianist/arranger, JoAnn Daugherty, worked with the original musical sketches that were the beginnings of the To the Ends of the Earth soundtrack score. Her insights helped create the melodic and chordal sound scape that became a musically lush reflection of the documentary visuals. Her piano performance at the score recording session is the connecting voice that ties musical ideas together across the orchestra.

As a pianist, composer, arranger, conductor, musical director, and recording artist, Jo Ann’s love for all kinds of music shines. Whether sharing the stage with jazz luminaries such as Victor Goines, Conrad Herwig, and Howard Levy; conducting or playing keyboards in hit Broadway shows like Motown: The Musical, Jersey Boys, Dreamgirls, and Billy Elliot; or music-directing and arranging PBS concert and film specials, she brings an infectious energy to each project. Daugherty has toured extensively throughout the United States, leading her own group at the Chicago Jazz Festival, teaching jazz piano at Chicago’s Roosevelt University, performing a two-week jazz engagement in France, and jamming with amazing musicians in Madagascar. Daugherty’s current solo jazz album, Bring Joy, earned a four-star review from Downbeat Magazine (January 2017). She released two previous albums, Range of Motion and Debut, to an enthusiastic reception.
