Todd was at a book launch in London. As a charter member of Photographers United Todd has had images in the inaugural publication, “Remembering Elephants”, “Remembering Rhinos,” and this year’s installment, “Remembering Great Apes.” The events are held at the Galleria Pall Mall and the venerable Royal Geographic Society. Supporters and special guests include Prince Harry, Pierce Brosnan, and Ellen DeGeneres.
Todd travels through Tanzania filming for To the Ends of the Earth, Episode 2, Birds of East Africa. Features include the Flamingos of Lake Natron (ground and aerial film and photographs), Bush and water birds of Tarangire, and mountain birds on Mt. Meru. Classic behaviors, iconic species, dramatic audio, and some never before filmed avian life moments will be added to the storyline of this visually stunning documentary.
Filming continues in Egypt as Todd films ancient Egyptian tombs, temples, and hieroglyphics, telling the story of some of mankind’s first veneration of avian species.
Todd will be filming in Costa Rica for Episode 3, To the Ends of the Earth, the Natural World. Featured subjects will include life in the rainforest, cloud forest, and coastal habitats, Sloth, toucans, owls, hummingbirds, and hatching sea turtles will be on the filming schedule.
Todd will spend a month in Tanzania doing the final shooting for The Birds of Tanzania Documentary. The main focus will be bird behaviors following the short rains. Todd is looking for crowned crane gatherings and mating behavior, mating kingfishers, and dramatic kori bustard displays. Bird communication will be a goal for the audio program element.
Todd will be one of the featured presenters at the North American Nature Photographers Association (NANPA) Summit in Las Vegas. The three-hour program will cover the conservation goals of To the Ends of the Earth, show participants the East Africa Documentary, discuss what it takes to gather the raw footage included in the film, and share filmmaking techniques that create an in-depth nature documentary. INDIA for tigers and other Indian wildlife for Episode Three, The Natural World. Tigers are the highlight of this shoot, but sloth bears, leopards, jungle cats, birds, and more will be filmed. Iconic Indian sites, the Taj Mahal and the Khajuraho Temple complex will add to the film library for Episode 4, Stone!.
The quest for Snow Leopards and other mountain species in the Himalayas will be one of the subjects for The Natural World while the mountains and Buddhist Monetarists will be featured in Episode Four, Stone!
