The highly anticipated new documentary from wildlife photographer and music composer Todd Gustafson will debut this week. To the Ends of the Earth: East Africa features photography, videography, and an original music score from Gustafson, as well as narration by Jane Goodall. The film will be shown in 32 broadcast markets across 13 states beginning on November 8.
Raised in Tanzania, Gustafson uses his extensive personal experience around wild animals to “read” their behavior and capture astonishing moments in animals’ lives. In this new film, viewers are taken on a virtual tour of East Africa through the day-to-day existence of its most iconic animals.
Gustafson’s music score, performed by the Nashville Music Scoring Orchestra, combines exquisitely with his images to give viewers a sense of the rhythm of East Africa and a look into the private lives of creatures that most people will never see face to face.
The movie is narrated by primatologist, ethologist, anthropologist and UN Messenger of Peace Jane Goodall. “This amazing documentary,” says Goodall, “allows us to experience the very behaviors people most want to see – mothers and their young, hunting and killing, fighting and sex, and all against the backdrop of the wide, wild African scenery.”
To the Ends of the Earth: East Africa is the latest project in Gustafson’s ongoing mission to promote and expand wildlife conservation. He continues to use his talents and knowledge around the globe to educate others and help protect wild animals and their habitats.
Produced by Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) and distributed by American Public Television (APT), To the Ends of the Earth: East Africa will be available on 54 channels coast to coast. Click here to find a date and time in your area or check your local public television schedule.
